Starts by calling us or sending in a quote request! We try to respond within one business day to establish a good time to reach out to you to discuss your project further. In that phone call, we focus on getting your basic job information to determine if we are a good fit for your project. We will discuss your job details, the timeline, our process and schedule an on-site meeting if necessary.
At an on-site meeting, we will walk the site to go over the scope of your project, review as much of the project details as possible, and discuss expectations and budget. We will walk around after our meeting to take measurements, pictures and notes for the estimate and give you a rough timeline on when I will have your estimate back.
Every project is different, however they all follow the same general process. How we engage with you on your project will generally fall into one of these three options.
You know what you want and there is no design, subcontractor or materials selections needed.
We will provide you with a free detailed estimate to the customer. This will typical take one to three business days to put together.
You need help with material selections, gathering subcontractor pricing for budget planning, and some design help to determine what you want to build.
We will provide you with an estimate for a design retainer that will need to be paid in full prior to starting the estimate for the work. This helps us put the time into making sure we can get a detailed quote to meet your needs. The retainer would be refundable to your project if you move forward with the work.
Your project is more complex and needs significant design, architecture, engineering and/or permitting.
We can refer you to an architect firm that we work with. We would help with the handoff and the customer would work with the firm directly. They could then use those plans to get a quote from us for completing the work.
We generally prefer to present our proposal in person if possible to make sure all of the information is correct and to be sure you understand what the proposal is covering. If you are unable to meet in person, we will send our proposal via email and go through it together with you over the phone. We prefer that all of the decision makers be present when the proposal is presented.
The proposal will be developed based on your needs and will include a complete a time-and-materials estimated cost for your project along with the intended scope of work. You will then review our proposal and determine if you would like to go forward with the project or call us if you have any questions.
After the presentation, we expect you to either decide move forward with the proposal and get on our schedule, decline the proposal and we will not continue to hassle you, or schedule a follow-up phone call at a date when you expect to be ready to make a decision. If you would like to move forward, simply sign and return the proposal.
Once the proposal is signed we will discuss scheduling of the project. We will then lock you in the schedule for the estimated days of completion. We will send the deposit invoice. As soon as that is paid we will begin planning and ordering materials. We will discuss start and end times, parking and other accommodations such as restrooms.
With our plan in place and materials in hand, we then come out to complete the project. Your will be updated on the progress each day and the gameplan for the next day (for multi-day projects) as we work through the project.
Once we have completed the scope of work, we do a final walk with you to confirm you are happy with the work. Any issues that come up will be added to a closeout punchlist and completed immediately. At completion, we will send an invoice for final payment.
